YOUR FAVOURITE DESTINATION?

Aix-en Provence, France

TELL US ABOUT THE STAY? WHERE AND HOW WAS IT?

On my first visit, I stayed at Aix-en Provence and took daily trips to explore the region around it, and it was amazing! There are many things to see; castles, chapels, lavender fields, vineyards, heritage buildings and gourmet restaurants. On my other visits, I had a chance to stay at a real chateau near the lavender fields, and that experience allowed me to see small village life as they make the lavender oil and products.

ANY GREAT FINDS FROM THAT LAND?

Lavender fields.

MUST VISIT?

If you plan to visit Aix-en Provence from the end of June until mid of July, you must see lavender fields. I highly recommended renting a car and get a lavender field map from Tourism Center, and you will be amazed by the colours that make for fantastic photos.

My other favourite places in that region are Roussillon, Gordes, Valensole ( the best lavender fields are there), Sénanque Abbey, Isle Sur la Sorgue (the largest antique centre in south-eastern France) and Avignon.

GREAT FOOD? WHERE?

Foods and wine are fantastic. If you like rose wine, you should try Château Minuty 2019 Rose. If you have seen the movie “A Good Year” you will probably remember Fanny’s Café in the story. It is in Gordes, and that restaurant “Hôtel le Renaissance” has the most delicious food!

WHAT DID YOU PACK?

Lavender oil

WOULD YOU GO BACK? WHY?

I have been there four times, and I would love to visit again with my husband so he can experience this fantastic place!
