Corsica

Since my childhood, traveling is my biggest passion. I started travelling at the age of 13. First trip to Paris was not the most beautiful one but at least it showed me how to see the world in different ways. Then after this Paris experience, I travelled to 64 countries and thousands of villages and cities till my 44th. As I am a fall season lover, I prefer to travel in the fall season mostly.

But this time was different. When I chose to travel to Corsica in the mid-summer, I was not expecting such joy, fun, beauty in this paradise island, who covered me in different ways with different feelings.

YOUR LATEST DESTINATION?

Corsica, France

TELL US ABOUT THE STAY? WHERE AND HOW WAS IT?

Bonifacio was our first stop, from the south we headed to the north, which was unexpectedly surprising. We stayed in a classical southern Corsican villa there. Then at Calvi and Bastia, such as big cities of the island, we had to choose big hotels. Then Cap Corse experience was the most beautiful one. In a building from 1850's at Rogliano village, hotel named U Sant' Agnellu, with a view of the bay Macinaggio, was the most stunning sunrise of my vacation.

ANY GREAT FINDS FROM THAT LAND?

It was an amazing experience to swim from the natural cliffs and swim against the view of the old city at Calvi. The beaches between Bonifacio and Porto Vecchio are the most beautiful ones. You must rent a car to do beach hopping and to see Cap Corse to enjoy tiny towns that are sometimes driven by roads that even two cars cannot pass.. Coral jewellery was one of the most common souvenirs in the south of the island. Also, old posters and souvenirs of island images from the 1970s are a great option to bring the retro atmosphere of the island into your home. Corte with its small medieval streets and castle, makes you live in another era. You must taste island dishes, especially Aubergines à la Bonifacienne on the south. Pietra blonde is the most famous beer of the island. July is the season of the festivals in France. We had a chance to see the light festival in the south between the 8th till 10th and 14th of july French Revolution Grand Bal at Bastia. Both were visual feasts.
